 There are two types of knowledge, as English poet Samuel Johnson once said - to know something already or to know, how to find what we don't know. What we are trying to say is that you can find the knowledge you need for your every-day business, in the treasury of business knowledge; in the events, organised by Business Academy.

Trademark Business Academy (Poslovna akademija Finance) was established in 2006. We organise around 100 educational and informative events per year. Among those are also 7 bigger conferences, which in time became recognisable and well established brands. Among most vigorous and biggest events in the region is certainly Business Conference Portorož (Poslovna konferenca Portorož). Slovenska marketinška konferenca, Posvet finančnikov, Dnevi energetikov, Sales Summit in Najpodjetniška ideja are on the other hand events, which bring new ideas, knowledge and experiences to Slovenian business community.
Business Academy also constantly develops expert seminars from 11 different business lines. The most important seminars are from the fields, such as taxes, accounting, finance, marketing, internet, sales and trade focuses.
With our business events we try to support everything good, that has already been achieved in certain business lines and to act as a true partner of our clients. Special attention is given to the timing of our events and to organising round tables with well established business experts. We are also aware that all events have a limited life cycle and thate some of them will once be outdated. Every event, being a seminar of a conference, is designed anew every year and for this reason bigger events have their own Program Councils.
With the development of Business Academy and Finance newspaper we achieved that our section is being created by editors, journalists and outsourced lecturers and academics.
From a small business section to Business Academy
Everything began when newspaper Finance (Časnik Finance) was being issued twice a week in the years 1998 and 1999. We wanted to communicate directly with our readers and take advantage of the trademark, which was already well established within the banking and stock community. Together with Ljubljana Stock Exchange we began organising stock focuses, which were a kind of extensions of our newspaper's edition with the same name. By the end of 1999, the first edition of Slovene Business Conference (Slovenska poslovna konferenca) was published. After few years, we renamed it into Business Conference Portorož (Poslovna konferenca Portorož).
After 1999 we experienced a period of growth. We started adding new events in our portfolio, such as regional forums and Best Annual Report (Najboljše letno poročilo). The first regional forum was in Koper, where we introduced cooperation between the ports of Trieste and Koper. We cooperated with the Society for Marketing in the preparation of Marketing Conference. Only three people were involved in this at the time: ex-director Jurij Giacomelli, Primož Hvala and Nada Centrih. Our business was constantly growing, so we established a special section, led by Saša Jevšnik. We added new events: Finance Management Club, seminar about the taxation of company cars and others. Best Entrepreneurial Idea (Najpodjetniška ideja) also began to take shape. That was the era of establishing the full portfolio of events and of growing importance of newspaper Finance.
Setting new goals
Business events today are not only the driving force and communications channel for our readers, they also independently contribute their own content and thus complement the concept of Finance newspaper. In September 2006 we also introduced Business Academy's own web page. It's goal is to inform, advise, entertain and bring together all those who attend our events.
Our long-term goal is be seen as a tresury of knowledge and as an organiser of best, useful and high-quality seminars. We want to create communities, formed by people who attend our events.
